Queer Eye 2011
9th April 2011, NOD, Dlouhá Street 33, Prague 1, starting at 1:30pm (till the morning), admission: 150 CZK (100 CZK after 10pm) (NOD info - transport, food...)
“QUEERing” was the motto of the second Queer Eye festival. On Saturday 9th April 2011 you were introduced to some familiar and some soon-to-be-discovered faces of women’s Queer scene. In a friendly non-smoking multimedia space of NOD, we treated you to a gig of unforgettable Ester Kočičková (CZ) and a matador of alternative music scene: Monika Načeva (CZ). We got into trance with a electro-punk-psychedelic performer Lucia Lip (GER). The main evening programme also featured Red Velvet (BR/CZ/SK) and Unique Future (CZ).
Festival started already at 1.30pm when you could informally chat over a cup of tea in our improvised, yet very popular, tearoom. You could also choose to learn something new at one of our lectures with Pavla Jonsson (CZ), Maty Dio (SK) and Radim Labuda (CZ). Drumming workshop with Camila de Oliveira (BR) warmed up many of you and some of you decided to unwind and break free at a vocal workshop of Ridina Ahmed (CZ). Time after midnight belonged to DJ Henriette and her guests who entertained you until early hours.
Festival also featured the exhibition "COMING SOON" curated by Tamara Moyzes. The exhibition was mapping contemporary Czech and Slovak lesbian/queer art and was held until 10 May 2011.
Those that didn't have enough enjoyed themselves the day after in the Kampa park during our "After-festival hanging out" which involved "jumping boots" and juggling and just simply chilling out. (Photogallery)
